For a couple of weeks my weather station PC has been crashing for unknown reasons – at this point I’m thinking old hardware. Anyway, when I restart WD, it had lost all of its setting and I have to redo them. Is there a way to restore the previous setting?

Hopefully you have set WD to backup files daily to the databackup folder)?
With WD not running look for the most recent backup of wdisplay.ini and copy back to the wdisplay directory.
If you have a Davis VP2/Vue the download time for the datalogger in that file may need to be changed to when the PC crashed to avoid any duplicated data in the log/data files.
Then start WD and settings should be back.

That will work great next time. In one of the many crashes the backup switch was turned off and I forgot to check it. In the meantime I put in a new weather system. It’s turned on now.
