I need some guidance there

Maybe he means to add it as a menu item, in which case the wiki covers that.

I did a redirect from my provider, Hostmonster. I think I will rename the pages I want to link. Right now www.desmoinesweather.org points directly to the new site.
i will do that link.

I am not exactly sure how to make that a menu item.
I snagged this from the wiki and would I modify it and put it up as a menu item?
item nr=“24” show=“no”
link=“inc/meteoplugLiveDashboard.php”
caption=“Meteoplug”
title=“Meteohub/plug Live Data” />

Changing the link to:“http://www.desmoinesweather.org/RainGraphs/index.htm
Caption " Climate History " or something like that
title "Weather History " or something.

not sure, I don’t speak Dutch. (I am not being snarky. I am lost)

84 degrees @ 76%, that’s not exactly pleasant :frowning:

Welcome to Iowa . The heat index on the davis is 93F, and the THSW is 101. Not that dry heat. Maybe it is a good thing I am inside, doing this instead of going out and cutting down that weed tree from the hedge.

:roll:

I took care of it. Until I understand how to make it a menu item that works, I put it down in the section at the bottom of the page where equipment is.
I think it is time I tried that “laughing man” coffee in the keurig, I need a laugh.

Thank you for everyone who provided me guidance.

WARNING: Al items in the menu should be real template scripts. No links to other websites in the menu.

But : "There

I appreciate it very much.

for the “visit other sites” would that be in the wsmenuData.xml or in the wsUsersettings.php?

This time it is in the side area script, wsSideColom.php
Lines 178 204 contain three links with extra’s, which are not needed now.
Take small steps so only change one line and test.

Will check tomorrow (my CEST time) what the result is,
Wim

I think that will do it. I might make some more tweaks, but for now… eh

I really appreciate everything. I just need to reboot my machine and we are good to go

looking good me thinks :slight_smile:

Thanks, Brian.
The logic was, now that I am retired and trying to get into doing something different, I thought I should have my hand in this. I spent a lot of time behind the keyboard, Saturday afternoon and evening, all of Sunday and most of today. That is a lot of time . I am beat.

Having allergies (hayfever) isn’t helping this, but I do have the air conditioner on. Maybe early to sleep tonight.
I still have to tweak my old site a lot, I have a link referral to that. I did a redirect on HostMonster , so I can still go back to the old site if needed.

Eh…

OK, a small change is needed
This link works:
http://www.desmoinesweather.org/RainGraphs/index.htm

This one in your side area on your wbsite does not:
http://www.desmoinesweather.org/RainGraphs/index.htm/

The extra / at the end should be removed in line 195 of
http://www.desmoinesweather.org/weather27/wsSideColom.php?sce=view

		'link'	=>	'http://www.desmoinesweather.org/RainGraphs/index.htm/',

so that it reads

		'link'	=>	'http://www.desmoinesweather.org/RainGraphs/index.htm',

Then you can click on it and it will go to that page.

Wim

Thank-you. I have made that correction as you suggested.
It is going to be a very hot and humid day here.

http://www.desmoinesweather.org/weather27/index.php?p=82&lang=en#data-area
Under partnerships, one of the items is wrong, how do I correct that?
I need to change that script and icon or remove it all together.

  1. attached the logo of your MWWN. Rename it to_mesoLogo.png and put it in the weather27/img/ folder.
    It will overwrite the test logo of the download.

  2. In your weather27/_my_texts folder there is a file with the default texts for that page for every language.
    partners_en.txt you can change the texts there.

As you protected the settings with a password I can not help you any further as I can not check your settings for this.

Support is provided as much as possible BUT only as long as

  1. Settings are un-protected or the password is supplied (PM / Mail /Support system)

  2. The P=0000 page remains available

    You should modify the wsMenuData.xml to use show=“yes” and and hide=“yes” if you do not want it in the menu

Without that menu item OR without access to the WSUserSettings adequate support is impossible, sorry.

Wim

I will go do that. I can unprotect when I go into the program.

The protection of the settings is irrelevant for you. You can always check and change anything because you have your FTP program and FTP settings.

The passowrd IN the user settings should NOT be your ftp password, but a different one. It is only there to withold sniffing your settings with programs like PrintSite.php

To see your settings with printSite.php you yourself know what password is inside the usersettings so you can check your uploaded data and your settings with that pw=password

But I can not check your settings or your data without that. No backdoor available.

Wim

I understand, in the settings it doesn’t matter really who knows what the settings are, other than my email address (I can change that quickly). I went in, removed the password and saved it. I downloaded the img and changed it from jpg to png and now working on the commentary.

it is all good now. All I need to do is do some stuff with the weatherdisplay program, and of course my referral page.
