CWOP Altimeter calcs and Debugger messages.

I had an earlier thread about CWOP, but I have since stop using VVP and VPLive and corrected a data connectivity issue. So I have started a new thread with the current issues.

The screen to set WD to send Altimeter barometer to CWOP never shows any of the data/parameters used in the calculate (see attached screenshot, they are always zeros). WD does send a barometer reading to CWOP that is higher than the Sea Level barometer shown in WD (My current SL Barometer is showing 1010.6 hPa and the last CWOP recorded reading was 1014.5. The ‘Gladstone’ analysis barometer readings are around 7 hPa higher than that is being sent to CWOP by WD (currently around 1021 Hpa). I am at 5528 feet elevation so Altimeter is important for me.

I believe I have good connectivity between the VP2 console and my PC via the IP datalogger. I have tested the connection with a LAN tester and the wiring/connection are all good. However, In the WD debugger screen I see this:

I don’t know if this Socket connection error is related or not? I do have WD set to release the port every minute so the WeatherLinkIP datalogger can send it’s data to WeatherLink.com. Also, I am not using a serial Comport, just IP. Should I be concerned abut the ‘re connecting the comport line?’

Please let me know if I may have something configured incorrectly … if there may a ‘bug’ issue. Thanks for your help.

you need to have ticked to send altimeter baro pressure…

Sorry. I do have the checkbox to ‘Send Altimeter pressure’ checked. I just didn’t when I took the screen shot.

New screenshot attached. Checkbox is checked … still all zeros in the calcs/parameters.

Current readings:
VP2+ Consol and WD dashboard 1008.3 hPa
CWOP recorded reading (sent from WD) 1012.4 hPa
‘Gladstone’ Analysis reading 1021.0 hPa

I will do some testing and investigating
(but are cooking sausages at school today so only limited time today)

setup WD, connected to my IP data logger
got the data flowing (after a restart)
and the ticked this option
waited a minute
then went back to that setup screen and the data is there

see attached

so not sure why not working for you
you can set WD to show debug info…under setup, advanced/misc…tick to low raw data…which then shows under view, debug info

Here is an excerpt of the the log… May be something in here that that gives you you a tip on what is happening. I see a couple of 'Updating VP altimeter reading part 3 LOO

I do see this:
Updating VP altimeter reading part 3

question
do you happen to have set to release the port (in the IP setup in the com port setup)

I do have it set to release the port every minute so the datalogger can update WeatherLink.com

Hi
that might have been the problem
I have one thing with that in use in the latest .zip update
so try that version

I have found and fixed the problem
use the latest .zip update, ready now

Thank you! No more errors in the debugger, I can see the calcs and parameters in the Send Altimeter screen, and the CWOP reading is within 1 hPa of the ‘Galdstone’ Analysis. Looks goods so far.

Thanks for your help! Love the software and the support.
