clientrawdescription.txt (15.3 KB)

Yes thats what I wanted, thanks.

Just hope this is the latest version… line 1: " DRAFT 9/23/2014"

I had never noticed that before
(if you go by the file modified date you will see if its more recent)
Niko helped format the file contents better and he must have put that draft message there

You’re right, good memory, I found the original with that file date on my laptop

Plugin Update - Space Weather 3.0

Hi guys,
just a minor update - localization and optimization. Make sure you update the menu.php, default landing page is now “index.php”.

Enjoy

Plugin update - Annual Averages 4.0

Hi guys,

I have added a brand new page which shows comparison and averages across months, years etc. using boxplots. You can easily compare different time periods side by side. If you are already using version 3.0 of this plugin, you do not need to update the menu.

The landing page of this plugin (index.php) now shows a selection between the two available pages that are now included in this plugin.

Hi guys,

there will be a newsletter next week. In this newsletter I want to include a Q & A section (Questions / Answers). I already have a few questions/answers that I want to include because very often I get asked the same thing several times. I will then also choose some that I think would be useful to include in the FAQ section at meteotemplate.com.

If therefore there is something you want to ask, now is your chance. You can also specify if you are ok with using your first name next to the question or if you want the question to be included anonymously.

And here is the deal:

You can ask me absolutely whatever you want.

And

I will also answer absolutely whatever I want

Last - please ask via email ([email protected]) and in the subject include “Q&A”.

Plugin Update - Deviations 2.0

Hi guys,

I have updated the Deviations plugin. Some graphs (heatmaps) were not working and I also optimized the block, fixed some minor issues and made it load much faster.

Changes:

  • added dew point, apparent temperature and solar radiation
  • code optimization
  • fixed unit formatting
  • bug fixes - heatmaps, proper headings etc.
  • changed to CDN source
  • fixed HTTPS compatibility

No settings required, so just add the new files and you can delete the old ones (indexT etc.). Just delete the whole Deviations plugin directory content and upload the new scripts.

Enjoy

Block Update - Forecast 2.4

Hi guys,

just a minor update. The block will now automatically hide the select box for the data source if you only enable one data source (in which case there is nothing to switch).

Plugin update - Apparent Temperature 2.0

Hi guys,

I have updated the Apparent Temperature plugin. The page is now redesigned to save space and be more compact, by default it now shows the current station value and the value itself has a color underlay based on the value.

  • added tooltips for icons

Jachym, is there any chance to insert a field into the database for the UV values? I know that you have to modify many scripts, but I think that’s worth it!

It’s a pity that an advanced template like this, doesn’t contain UV values for those that have a sensor installed! I could help on this, because I have a UV sensor and records, since September 2006!
Even if I have to import all my records since 2005, when I first installed my Davis VP2!

Best regards,

Thanos

Hi Thanos,

it is much more complicated than it seems.

Just to mention the major problems:

  1. not many, but basically all scripts would need to be changed
  2. I do not have UV myself and for many scripts you need to be working with current values, so even if someone sent me their data, it would be outdated after 5 minutes and I would not be able to test things like “today” etc.
  3. vast majority of SW can report UV, but it is not included in the log files, which basically means it would not be possible to import history UV. That makes it even worse if you think about it, because if I introduced this now, everyone would have to start from scratch
  4. I would have to change even the very core scripts, all the scripts for updates, and even create a new script to modify the database.
  5. and last, despite the fact there are quite a few users who have it, the majority does not and every single extra column in the database means the page will run slower so for majority of users it would mean there would be no benefit, the page would only get slower and I would not release anything useful for them for quite some time because I would be working on this

Block Update - Rain 3.1

Hi guys,

the updated version of the Rain block should (hopefully finally) be fully compatible with Internet Explorer as well. I spent quite some time with this and used some work arounds so please let me know if it still does not work as expected.

Plugin update - Year Comparison 3.0

Hi guys,

I updated the Year Comparison plugin. New version now includes graphs, not just tables and I also standardized the naming of the pages so make sure you update your menu.php and you can delete the comparison.php.

Plugin Update - NWS Warnings 2.0

Hi guys,

the updated version has redesigned left section. The original scrolling news were very hard to read and work with. I also changed the name of the plugin landing page from nws.php to index.php as part of the standardization process, so please update your menu.php as well.

Plugin Update - City Conditions 2.4

Hi guys,

I updated the City Conditions plugin.

Changes:

removed pressure values (Yahoo has been reporting nonsense since March so there is no point in waiting any longer)
CSS tweaks
improved caching mechanism
standardization
Please update your menu.php as well, landing page is now index.php. Also note, it can sometimes take quite long for the page to load, this is because Yahoo is sometimes very overloaded and there is not much we can do about it.
