Meteotemplate - new free website template

We did discuss some changes/improvements to the gauges version you sent out on 8/31, and I got a “I’m still working on it” email you sent 9/9, but I don’t believe I have received any files since then. The biggest issue (for me at least) that we discussed, and I’m not sure it’s feasible to overcome it with the graphic tool you are using, is that to substitute for WDL I would prefer a single page display.

Hi sorry maybe I just didn’t get that it was OK. Niko check some of the alternative layouts of the plugin for my template, I have several versions, some are more condensed. I would do the same for this.

I don’t recall finding anything that didn’t work in the most recent version that I have installed.

 I think the only thing we were talking about were the positions of the yesterday min/max, it should be something Brian has added recently, but I was not able to find it in the clientraws.

Also, do you think that it would be good idea to try to re-create the other layouts I created for Meteotemplate for this stand-alone WD version too?

You’re right, I was confused with the timelines of emails and PM’s.

CO2

A new plugin is now available. This one is all about carbon dioxide (CO2). The plugin consists of several pages, which show information with regards to CO2 concentrations and emissions. This includes both current and past data, which is presented using interactive tables, graphs and also maps.

Main features:

  • current CO2 concentrations (Mauna Loa, global average)
  • weekly averages (current and past data since 1974)
  • monthly averages (current and past data since 1958) with annual comparisons
  • annual data and graphs since 1958
  • comparison of current data with past data
  • prehistorical levels of CO2 on Earth (determined using data from air bubbles trapped in the Antarctic or Greenland ice sheets)
  • global distribution of greenhouse gas emissions by country, economic sector and gas
  • interactive map (country colors or bubbles) of CO2 concentrations for world countries with a slider to move through years (annual data, cumulative data, per capita data, per GDP data)
  • sortable tables and graphs of CO2 emissions grouped by country and by years (annual data, cumulative data, per capita data, per GDP data)

Install instructions and detailed description is provided in the corresponding blog post.

Looking at the actual data…scary…

Hi…
is the warning going to ve visible on all the pages ?

or we’ll have to go on the warning/index to see if something is happening ?

also,a way to have them in french ?..for the french to work…in the dataLoader.php page…line 8…replace the URL with : http://meteo.gc.ca/warnings/report_f.html?

ive test it,works fine

thanks

About the warning-Canada…

so we have to put a link in the menu to go the page to see if theres a warning/alert…

is there a way for the word ‘‘warning/alert or whatever’’ to turn green/yellow or red depending the type of alert in the menu ?

cuz normally,a weather warning/alert/advisory is shown on the main webpage of the website

that is currently not possible. The problem is that it is loading each region separately so if I wanted to show the whole Canada it would take ages to load. I will have to see how to try to do this, but the way Environment Canada provides their data is not the absolute ideal

Weather Warnings Australia

8O

Looks like you like it huh ?

i played a lot on this layout…i think 2-3 days…never satisfied with what i was seeing hehehe

til now…its been a while now i didnt touch it

Looks very nice, maybe the only problem could be that it is a bit too small, but otherwise =D> =D> =D>

Btw. Carl I also thought about what you asked on FB and I think it should be possible, I will have to look more closely into it, but I think that maybe rather than direct redirect, it would be better to have maybe some alert box on the homepage, which would show it and the user could click it and be taken directly to the alerts page (rather than redirecting automatically from homepage)

what is small ?? the wd’s image ?..if so,thats why its a clickable image

cheers

I see

Hi Jachym,

it would be better having alert box and i'm sure that you can work this out!!!
