Setting up FTP

I had problems with this last time I set up Weather Display and it is stumping me again.
I am getting this in the Retime clientraw FTP session:
11004: [11004] Valid name, no data record (check DNS setup)
11004: [11004] Valid name, no data record (check DNS setup)
Connecting to FTP server.
***102: The RemoteHost address is invalid (0.0.0.0).
Reseting the FTP

My main ftp page looks like this:
Host http://www.nightop.com
User: shw3_xxx
Password, is correct

When I open a command prompt and use the above info I am able to connect to the site. My ftpfulllog at one time seemed to be updating but currently does not seem to be doing so, the Produce a log file box is checked.

Windows 7 Pro

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks,
Greg

Hi
try setting as
ftp.nightop.com

I will try it within WD, when I try ftp.nightop.com from a command box I get an unknown host.

you could also try just
nightop.com

ftp.nightop.com - no go at all
nightop.com - same results as prior attempts

have you tried contacting your server provider to see what it should be?

Using nightop.com as the server name should work, there is an accessible FTP server there. But as Brian suggests it would be best to contact the webhost to confirm how FTP is supposed to be configured for their system.

I think it is something with my WD setup. I FTP to my website all the time using core ftp, using the same settings I am using in Weather Display. I am going to do some screen shots here in a bit and post them.

Contacted my ISP, and I am using the correct credentials and paths. They also had me try a static IP address and the results are still the same.

Reseting the FTP

Also, and this may be a clue as to everything that is happening, the ftplogfull.txt file is basically blank the only thing that is in it is:

I uninstalled WD, deleted the WD directory, rebooted the PC and then reinstalled.

Thanks,
Greg

Hi, try loosing the http:// use just the IP and please remove this image as its got ya details in

Yes, get rid of the http:// in your server setup…and if it still doesn’t work try turning off passive mode…

the screen shot of the settings still has the http:// in it
and you do not even have nightop.com there as the server name as suggested

also deleting the WD directory does not reset the internet settings: you need to go action, delete windows registry settings, to do that (then restat WD)

The IP is OK (but nightop.com would be better, hosts can change IP’s without telling the users), and in case you didn’t hear it already, no “http://”

Thanks all. Taking the http:// off seems to have done the trick.
