Console WD - Downloading station data

That would be a nice option in wd console. I running into problem with raspberry shutting down console. I’m losing to much data.

Thanks
Jay

I plan on running “Weather Display for Linux GUI version Version on 5 January 2015”
or “Weather Display for Linux console version Version on 24 November 2013”

Not sure yet, will depend on testing but most likely the gui version.

Thanks

Any thoughts Brian?
Is this doable so it catches up like the windows version?

Thanks

Jeff

Bump.

Any chance Brian? Please, I really want to get away from windows.

yes, it is doable
for what operating system and what hardware?

Brian
Linux Debian, Davis VP2 would work for me.

Thanks
Jay

Thanks Brian. I’m using the Davis VP2. OS is Linux, either Debian or Centos.

Please, if possible I’d love to have that functionality also on the Raspberry Pi version running Raspbian.
My weather station is WH1081 kinda

Thanks,

Per

Brian

Will there be an update to this request in the future?

Jay

i add also for this request, Raspbian and Irox pro x,
all is very stable on raspberry (4 mount atm), problem is only the sd card, time to time go in paradise (hot temperature?)
tnx , raf

I will look at adding history data catch up on start up for the Davis VP and WH1081 to consolewd (both linux and raspberrypi versions) over the coming days

just an update
I have this working, for a Davis VP (usb data logger)
but there is one problem I yet to resolve: the data logger is sending the data from the start of the history stored instead of from the time/date requested…

Brian, I could use start of history because I got my Logger a couple of month after setting up my station.

Hi
yeah, its still usefull…as the program will only use the data from when it needed…will just take a while to scroll through all the data…
so I can get this update available for you to try :slight_smile:

try
http://www.weather-display.com/downloadfiles/consolewdtest.zip

let it run…and get data…and wait for a minute or so…so that it writes to the ini file the last time it was running ([Davis download] section)
then exit
then add to the config.txt file
Do history start up=yes

Download and in stalled new file, doesn’t start. which version of Linux should it be running under.

did you unzip to where consolewd is installed already?
this version is for normal 32 bit Linux (e,g Ubuntu)

Yes I did unzip, I am running Wheezy, if that is a problem I can image a new card, it’s going to be a few, busy at the moment.

do you mean you are running on a raspberry pi?

Yes this I what I have running on raspberry pi.

pi@raspbCW10 ~ $ cat /etc/os-release
PRETTY_NAME=“Raspbian GNU/Linux 7 (wheezy)”
NAME=“Raspbian GNU/Linux”
VERSION_ID=“7”
VERSION=“7 (wheezy)”
ID=raspbian
ID_LIKE=debian

This is what I followed to setup my SD card

If I have to make changes to make it easier for you to help out I can do that.
