Downloaded the updates for both WDLiveapp and the HB8wirerelaycontrol.
They both have a setup button and are running well on my phone and the tablet.
Thanks,
Gus

hi everybody
I am hoping to start to play around with the 8 Channel I/O (8 Relay Version) module
I want to try and make a damper on my pottery kiln open and close using the 8 Channel I/O (8 Relay Version) module
as anybody come across any high-temperature sensors that work on a one wire system?
thank you Brian for implementing the settings to enable to use this module,
what is everybody else using the module for?,there are so many possibilities, what settings are you using in weather display? your project
mick
Hi everybody
I just connected the really board up, hobby board new reader is picking up the rom and is allocated to the 8 Channel I/O (8 Relay Version
What I wanted to do now, is to test each switch, using the settings in the hobby board reader settings
I’m not getting any LED lights to switch on, When I select the test settings
I have power on the board,
Appreciate any suggestions and using the latest version of software
mick
I don’t know what you working any ideas
I’m using a LinkUSB Adapter I don’t know if this has any bearing on the situation
Please see image
Hi Brian
I just test using a different adapter (1-Wire USB Adaptor),
And it works with this adapter
My adapter is a linkUSB
Which is used on my 1 wire system Does not work
not sure why it would not work with that
might be a voltage problem? (i.e not enough voltage)?
The driver for the link USB module works as a serial port the driver Information comes up with Emulated serial port
I’ve checked the voltage on the relay board and I’ve got the correct voltages, I can trigger a relay by using the manual input,
It just doesn’t seem to be talking to my computer,
Is there anything else I could try
Thanks
Hi Brian
I plugged in the relay board, on its own into the linkUSB adapter and it does not communicate with wd hobby board one wire reader
When I plug in the USB adapter which I have a spare one it works
For some reason it does not want to work on the linkusb adapter {serial)
mick
that will be because the HB 1 wire ready is still expecting a usb connection
you would need to change to serial type connection…e.g for the default 1 wire (using the default onewireviewer) or in wd’s other dallas1wireader.exe
My weather station is all 1 wire sensors , all working with wd
I have wd 1 wire reader running with the new hb reader
Connected to a linkusb adapter, in wd setup 1 wire reader is using
Serial ,
The I/o relay when connected the hb reader picks up the ROM ,
All looks good
When I click on the test settings , know relay led is coming on
I was just testing the I/0 relay sensor to help out ,
Maybe it will not work properly with a linkusb adapter
I have an a amazing weather setup ,running on wd
It’s only been possible because of all your hard work
Thanks
Mick
if it finds and allocates the ROM ID then it should work
have you ticked a switch to turn on?
Hi
Yes
Thanks
and yet you say using the other adaptor, and no other changes, it works?
yes ,it works using the other adaptor
I do not understand why it would work with one and not the other, especally if it has found the ROM ID OK
Hi Brian
I just thought I would try updating the linkusb serial adapter drivers, still made no difference
On their website they have a user manual showing different commands for this adapter and wondering if there’s anything in there that you could see that may be causing the problem
please note it’s okay if you cannot get it working for me, As I can use this circuit board using external switches and a small timeclock for the project I need
Thank you
LinkUSB Users Guide V1.3.pdf (186 KB)
does any other software work with it (for the 8 channel relay)
Hi,
Know other software , only wd
I am using my old laptop , with the relay board with the USB adapter
Which should work for my automatic damper project
Plus 2 temperature sensors
Will test tmorow with the temperature sensors to switch relay on and off
Thanks for adding this to wd
Update
Have the relay board working with extra temperature sensors
Thanks
Dear Brian,
could you please add 8-channel relay switch statuses (ON/OFF) into the tagslist.txt? It would be useful to use them for monitoring purposes - e.g. in the custom screen setup etc.
Many thanks!
Best regards
Pavel
