HELP! My Comm Port setting is lost
« on: October 19, 2004, 07:11:17 AM »
 :(

Before realizing that APRS servers were indeed not working right I fooled around with a setting somewhere and suddenly discovered that nothing is able to go out through the internet as the Com Port is lost. When WD is running in the Window Active Bar it says WS2010 Comm Port error - WS2010 Comm Port reconnected --- but in spite of trying the Comm Port Setup in Control Panel, none of the Port numbers corrects the error. I believe Comm Port 1 is what I was using.
Never had trouble with his before, so I guess I am at fault, I must have changed a setting somewhere and now have messed everything up. Unable to send APRS data or Wunderground data and also cannot send items to my web page. I am shut out completely due to this Comm Port error.
Can anyone tell me what to do? I tried everything including reinstalling WD after clearing out all my old support files (I did back them up on another computer). I hope that this is just a case of correcting a setting or file, even a registry entry. I can do this if somebody can direct me to what I should do. Thanks you so much.

maybe you set a aprs com port out?
(see under setup, aprs wxnow output)
email me your settings file, wdisplay.ini and wdisplayftp.reg from the folder databackup, after going action, back up registry entry now

 :?

I worked and worked on this problem and appear to have solved it by trial and error.

My WD is again working OK and sending out my data with the COMM PORT recognized and functioning fine.

Thank you for help.
