Carterlake template v3--noaa forecast not showing
« on: August 07, 2012, 08:07:57 AM »
After a few weeks of no forecast issues, I've noticed for the past 2 days that my local NWS forecast on my site is blank..not even the "forece update" updates the page. If I copy the local "printable forecast" link I use in the script and past it in the addressbar, it displays fine. The also occured on Monday twice during the day..but then seemed to correct itself. Now Tuesday morning its again blank.

the other 3 forecasts for other areas on the page are displaying fine.

I experienced the same problem yesterday afternoon.  I checked and updated all my references to the forecast in Settings.php, advforecast2.php, and forecast-summary.php after which my local forecast reappeared.  (BFSkinner, a psychologist who studied rat behavior, was correct when he stated that random positive reinforcement leads to the most persistent repetitive behavior, because I would probably do the same thing even though it likely didn't do anything to correct the problem. :) )  I have no idea what happened or how it was resolved.  All of my other forecasts would display.  How could the cache get frozen on empty like that?

NOAA/NWS have been making a lot of server changes recently (just see the number of threads on this and other forums about script issues) so I think transient problems are to be expected for a while  :(
