RESOLVED: WD Control Panel Window wont open after upgrade to latest build.

Hi Guys,

I am the longtime WD user formerly known as "Macca".... however, my login details were no longer recognised, hence Macca2....

My WD system runs absolutley faultlessly, and I am loathe to change it. However, I upgraded to the new build last week, and since then, the WD application continues to operate as it should, but I cannot open the Control Panel or View windows. The drop down menus do work however. If I click on the Control Panel or View, all that happens is the WD windows goes grey, as if the window is already open? Really unusual. Have tried searching, I see one report from several years ago of a similar occurence, but he had no responses.
 
The program error log contains this:

Above error or program log occured at :04:20 pm 20/06/12
Cannot create file "C:\wdisplay\WDISPLAY.INI". The process cannot access the file because it is being used by another process
Above error or program log occured at :04:30 pm 20/06/12
Cannot create file "C:\wdisplay\WDISPLAY.INI". The process cannot access the file because it is being used by another process
Above error or program log occured at :05:20 pm 20/06/12
Cannot create file "C:\wdisplay\WDISPLAY.INI". The process cannot access the file because it is being used by another process
Above error or program log occured at :03:01 am 21/06/12
Cannot create file "C:\wdisplay\WDISPLAY.INI". The process cannot access the file because it is being used by another process
Above error or program log occured at :03:10 am 21/06/12
Cannot create file "C:\wdisplay\WDISPLAY.INI". The process cannot access the file because it is being used by another process
Above error or program log occured at :03:30 am 21/06/12

Weather Display:
most likely a problem with the last window position settings
(can happen with more than one monitor)
you can reset those
in the wdisplay.ini settings file where WD is installed:
[control panel]
left=
top=

etc

delete those settings
(when WD is not running)

same for
[view panel]
left=
top=

I am having the same problem, I have 4 monitors running.
Win 7 64 bit, Davis VP2, WD 1037R Build 34

Unfortunately this solution has not worked for me. Any other options?

that should do the trick
best thing is to .zip and email me your settings files
