which is more representative

Too quiet around here, so I thought I would throw this out.
We have heat index, wind chill, humidex to determine how miserable it is outside.   However we also have THSW,  looking at it all, which do you think is more representative  to use to determine a "real feel" (when I was a kid, it had definitely a different direction on what "real feel" was)?

Hi,

Everyone is different with what comfort zone requirement needs to feel comfortable.  Is that one of the reasons why our creator gave us the "big toe"?  :dontknow:

Very possible young Grasshopper. However, it probably was there to stub in the night in case you didn't run into the rearranged furniture with your shin.

Funny (not) just did that recently, Stubbed toe on table in middle of the night, bending sharply down to grasp damaged digit and put back out, isn't life fun

because of the odd shape of our house, to get to the bathroom at 3:30 am, one has to go through the family room (watch for the skate board) and through the computer room.  My chair is generally pushed in, but the wife often leaves her chair out in the pathway. Both are black and the led lights from the computer do no good in this,  many a time I have nailed the toe on the roller on her chair and on the way back scraped the shin  on some other object.  I have given up

Going back to the original question...

Wind chill can be excluded because it's not intended to be used in the same temperature ranges as the others. The others are all indexes and as they include slightly different (Heat Index/Humidex) or significantly different (TSHW) inputs to the calculations, they will affect different people in different ways. For example, someone who dislikes the sun (me!) will probably find TSHW more relevant because it includes a solar effect.

Also bear in mind that any index is relative to the kind of environment you're used to living in. A conversation I had with a taxi driver in Alice Springs (central Australia) highlights this effect...

Me: Wow, it's hot today.
Taxi driver: Nah, it's only warm.
Me: What temperature is it?
TD: About 45degC (113degF). We don't call it hot until it gets above 50degC (122degF).

I had the pleasure of walking in about 50degC heat a couple of days later round King's Canyon. It wasn't actually as bad as it sounds...the humidity must have been close to zero and that has a big effect.
