Did you create the database and set the file accesses correctly?

Maybe

I changed the date of GeoLiteCity.dat file  Thinking maybe that was it.  Still nada.  And now is says my data base is out dated and an update is available.  But where is the update button?

There isn't one. You have to run your wo-update.php file from the browser to get it to update.

There was a button on the http://www.burgus.org/whos-online.php page.  Or so I thought :(

It'weirdrd that nothing shows up from the whos-online code.  Not even an error.

Mark,

I don't know how you have yours set up, but on mine I have to log in, then it gives me a link to do the update.  Hopefully that helps?

Yeppers the update button does not appear unless you have that page password protected.  And since I did not have a password on that page.

Oh well I had fun chasing my tail.  The only beef I have is getting the fur out of my teeth.

Thank you all for helping me

How to do cron jobs on 1and1.com
http://faq.1and1.com/scripting_languages_supported/cron_jobs/3.html
I have windows running scheduled tasks for the atom alerts and the lightning page.  But the lightning page is not working unless I manually ask it to update.
The joys of moving web hosts.
Slowly I am finding out how to do this.  And I have been helped a lot by others.

Blank radar screens show up every once in a while.  Some times several in a sequence?  Two things going on at the same time maybe?

hello Mark...

was checking out your site and noticed on your homepage/dashboard...at top of dashboard where it says updated at and then counts upwards through the seconds counter....it flashes green every 5 seconds, which means the ajaxWDwx.js file is set correctly at every 5 seconds..so the problem must be inside WD>Control Panels.

go to WD> CONTROL Panel>Webfiles/Web page /realtime FTP Icon at top middle right of control panels (yellow icon with man Holding shovel in it)

now in there click on the TAB at top of wndow that says "Real time client FTP"

now go down to the 7th box down on left column that says "Delay between uploading Data (seconds)"..and set it to 5

which is for every 5 seconds

now click on "OK " and exit out of the control panels screens.

Next totally close down WD... and then restart WD.

Your dashboard data should now be updating every 5 seconds instead of every 15 seconds.

This concludes the lesson for the day...Chris

P.S. Saw your Gas Prices page and wish our prices here were as low as the prices there for a gallon of Gas. ours are about $3.75/Gal

I'll take a look at the updating times.  I used to have 5 second updates but went to 15 second updates.  So I need to change the ajaxWDwx.js file.

They put %10 grain alcohol in our mid range gas and it is subsidized to make it 0.10 per gallon cheaper than regular.  When these people report the gas prices they report the mid range gas as regular because of the lower price.  Regular gas is the lowest octane.  So what you are seeing is prices that are wrong by 0.10 per gallon.  I'll get over to Burlington this AM and report some of the prices.

I will not burn the alcohol in my car.  Take a look at the BTU ratings of alcohol and gasoline.  The 0.10 is not worth it.  Not to mention what the alcohol does to the engine.  And it is just plain wrong to burn alcohol ;)
