CWOP Sedtup, APRS
« on: April 27, 2012, 07:51:12 PM »
Hi All

I am trying to set up my CWOP , i am looking at the .txt file and looks like its going through, i have posted a couple times about my problem with trying to get my CWOP to transmit.

Question, on the setup tab on the main menu, do i need to do anything with create WXNOW.txt file option, to get my data to talk to CWOP.

Sorry if this question sounds daft, i only been using Wd for about a week

Paul

You don't need to use the wxnow.txt file.   You might try changing the port number to 23 rather than the 14580 "default".  Sometimes that will work better.  Another thing you may want to try is to change the time you send data away from the 5 minute blocks - i.e. set it up to send at 03, 08, 13, etc.  instead.  It could be that there's a bit too much "congestion" at the times you have set.

the time that it is sent is determined by the last number in the CWOP ID number
for your case, that is 1 (e.g 10:01, 10:11, 10:21  etc)
what speed PC?
how much memory on the PC?
if you have WD set to do lots on the 10 minute (10:00, 10:10, 10:20, etc) then try unsetting that as a test
