Extreme records for 10-min Average Wind Speed
« on: April 26, 2012, 12:32:45 PM »
Dear Brian,

I wish to view the extreme record for 10-minute average wind speed and upload this data to WDL, however I cannot find the button that allows me to achieve the goal. Can you help me on this? I am using Davis Vantage Pro2 as well as Davis Vantage Vue.

Many thanks,
CCC_MC

hi
do you mean are you refering to an all time record for max 10 minute average windspeed?
(as opposed to just the normal calculated average windspeed?)
there is an option in WD to show the 10 minute average windspeed....but that value is not used for the max average all time record windspeed
I could add option so that it is

If you could add this option it would be a great addition i think.

Thanks Brian. Just want to ask if the value in the clientraw.txt file will also change accordingly? Cheers.

you mean the all time record data in the clientraw file for WDL?
yes that would be changed to be the all time max 10 minute windspeed
I will add this option , for the next version update
(you would need to reset your current record, so that it gets surpased by this new setting, or I could make it so that setting to convert all the logfiles to data files with that setting in use would mean a calculation of the 10 minute average speed would be done on the average windspeed value in the logfile)

Thanks for the fix. However, I wonder if it is possible to display/calculate the average wind records in other time range (i.e. daily/monthly/yearly) in 10-minute average as well? Thanks.

Oh, I just noticed that. Thanks for the update, but how can I adjust the setting so that the maximum average wind speed today shown on the main page of the program is also a max 10-min average? How can I also set the daily high average wind to 10-minute average high? Thanks.

currently the daily max is not linked to the 10 minute average speed
I could add that option

Update installed and running correctly, thanks Brian.

Just wanna ask if it is also possible to add an option to display the last hour maximum average (1-min/10-min) wind on the main page of WD?
