clientraw issues and time.
« on: February 24, 2012, 03:44:32 PM »
Good day to all of you linux guru's I am really hoping someone in here can help me with this issue. First off... system is Ubuntu 11.10 32 bit  (kernel 3.0.0.16) on AMD Quad core WD version is 10.37L build  42. This is the latest to my knowledge. I am using the saratoga templates for my website. My issues are first and for most. The clientraw file stops updating around midnight (give or take an hour or 2) every day. The file is rendered every minute and placed in the correct location. The problem is that the data is that file is not correct. If I delete it it shows up again a minute later.  I find that the switch in the file create tab resets to the off position at least once a day so the program is just reloading the old data values.
I can verify the station is receiving data and it is updating the testtags file correctly, It's just the little issue of clientraw.txt stopping once  day. So that's the first issue. The second is that date/time format. The gizmo in the web template always reads 24:mm and not 12/mm am/pm. Everything I can find in the software is set to produce a 12 time listing.  If I understand it correctly the php scripts build the initial time from a collection of the actual hour + min and the update it looks for the file time just after it.  21 07 00 -21:07:00 0 0 23 2  I think the problem is the dash, but I don't know how it all comes out. Date format also messes up the astronomy page and some how it all reads as Dec 1969.
I do not see anything in the system or program log.   On a side note I do see my system memory slowly creeping up as the days go on. could this be the memory leak I've read about.
a bit info.... I do see sql errors when I run the program. Could this be affecting it some how? and how do we get the WD to work with MySQL?

I'm new to Linux and still figuring it all out.   Again any help would be appreciated.

John

the site by the way is home.kb9cfv.net

maybe its a permission problem with the linux version?
check the permissions on the settings files as well (the .ini files)

Good point I will have to check the permissions. Aside from the mysql errors, I think I have found a way to work around the clentraw fail after a few hours.  I have WD generateing the file every minute but upload every 5. basically bypassing the custom tag stuff all together. It has been stable for about 4 days until last night I found my daughter had been "looking" for something under the desk and had unplugged the station. Now if I can just build a defense system from the kids I should be fine.  All and all I think I found a stable config for all of this.

Just an update on my issues. I was able work out a lot of them with simple tweaks, however my Clientraw data will fail every 2 days. The other data is fine, WU is fine ad it just keeps clicking away except the clientraw file stops getting generated.   Any thoughts on this?  Some where I read it might be a memory leak in the software but I confused on this.  Any help would be appreciated.
