approximate grass or soil temp?
(1/1)
m77:
can any one please point me in the direction of an approximation to calculate soil or grass temp if you know the other basic variables.
I know there are so many factors influencing temp from 1.25/2m down to zero cm but are there any equations to help?
Budgie:
You can use WXSim to give you that.
In WXSimate, click on the "Soil" button in the bottom right hand corner and add any soil temp & moisture sensors that you have so that the data is picked up during the download.
In WXSim; First go into Start > Autorun and disable the autorun if you use it.
Now on the main page click on the "Soil Data" button to open a new window where you can tell WXSim the type of soil that you have and various other information. Lastly, put a tick in the "Allow soil calculations" box and click OK to close.
Now restart the autorun again.
m77:
thanks Budgie - unfortunately I don't have any extra sensors to help with this - that's why i wanted to get an approximated value.
Budgie:
Why not try the soil forecast routine in WXSim anyway. It should produce something as I only have one set of temp & moisture sensors and the forecast produces data for more than that.
