I have a new Vp2 wirless, Usb data logger, New I5 laptop running win 7 64bit and 4Gb ram. Clean install of windows and WD. Now my problem. When Wd start on windows start, It dosnt see my Vp2. I get 2x green data received flicker, but not data received. I have found a way to get it to work. I goto control panel, Then station type & settings.then I change the station to DAVIS ENERGY (with data logger), Then I close/save, then ok.  then I exit and save WD. and when I open WD again, It sees my VP2 fine and works no problems. If I go back to station setup, The settings are changed back to Vp2. I dont have any more problems with my data untill I have to restart the computer. I have to do the change everytime to get my Vp2 to talk to Wd. Is this a bug in Wd or am I missing something. I am happy to supply logfiles or any info to sort this. I am happy to setup a Teamviewer account if anyone from Wd want to have a look and see if everything is setup. Thanks

what baud rate is the console set to?
I would check on that
also look in WD under view, WS2010/WS2500 data setup for debug info on start up

Baud rate is 19200 on Wd and datalogger. The log contains this.

Loaded all time records
loading the data file month22012.inf
Connecting com port
Com port connected OK
Time period too short
All data downloaded or did not sync correct!
Formating downloaded data now into actual data
Weather station type number 31
starting get data timer now
LOO
Normal daily resetting wind/temperature daily value , day: 5
Normal daily resetting rain daily value , day: 5 rain today 0.0 mm  , hour 9 min 0

I often have to start WD twice to get it to start receiving data from the VP2 data logger.

I will check my settings and get back to you.

I have tried closing Wd and restarting it. Unless I change the station settings, I cant get it to see my Vp2.

Time period too short
try restarting WD after not running for say 5 minutes
but also what history interal do you have the data logger set to ?
make sure it is 1 minute for best results

In WD go to Control Panel > Data Logger > top left of the window is "Data logging interval" it's normal to set this to one minute. Also make sure the switch is ON (Green) and if you change the logging time then make sure to click the "Set" button, then "OK" to close the window.
It may also be worth restarting WD after doing this to make sure it's taken.

I went and checked the data logging intervals and it was set to 1 minute. But i set it again and reapplied it. Green switch is on. I have done 2 restarts and both times it saw the Vp2. I wont say its fixed but looking good. Will do some more restarts and let you know.

the logging interval setting in the data logger setup is the selection you want to set it
it does not show what the current data logger interval the data logger is set to
(that does show in the debug info after a download though)
also make sure the date/time on the console matches the pc

the data logger is actualy factor set to only 30 minutes logging interval
