An indication or alarm for bad data from 1wirereader.exe
« on: January 27, 2012, 11:07:23 PM »
Hi,
On rare occasions a fault condition (probably somewhere in my 1-wire network) causes 1-wirereader.exe to lock up. By this I mean that the readings that WD gets from 1-wirereader.exe become fixed on particular values so all the graphs flatline. The WD data lights show green and WD just carries on graphing as though all was well. When I shut down WD, 1-wirereader.exe will not close as normal and a "end unresponsive program" box appears. A full pc shutdown and restart always fixes the problem.
The problem is that if I am otherwise involved and don't happen to look at my weather pc, this can go on for a long time.
So my feature request is for some sort of data check to pick this up and an audible alarm to indicate a flatline condition.
Apart from this rare problem, I am very pleased with the reliability of the WD/1-wire combination which often runs for months without a single glitch.
Thanks Windy

Hi,
I am resurrecting this request as it has just happened again......WD data quality green and data light green and flashing but all sensors flatlining.
Could there be a way that WD could detect flatline conditions and, at least, change the data quality light to red?
1wirereader is always locked up when this occurs and requires a forced shut down.
For me, this is my only niggle with WD and 1wire. Otherwise I reckon the combination is fantastic.
Thank you
