Since John is just starting out with his new wx station I tried to keep things low key.  It was obvious to me that he lacks basic knowledge of how these wx stations work and what capabilities they have, both with and without software.  We were all beginners once

You are of course quite correct, and it is very extremely unusual for me to be so caustic, that said I have been a member here for nearly 7 years, and a similar time on certain other sites, and most beginners are usually humble enough to accept they are on a learning curve (and like me always will be!) and appreciate when others are genuinely trying to offer help.  It is very rare to meet someone so abrasive at this stage.

The trouble is; none of us who offered advise in this thread have complained about John's tone in his posts.

If you are unhappy with anything posted on the forum then it's better to use the "Report to Moderator" facility that you'll find in the bottom right corner of each post. Admin and Mods can then take appropriate action, if any is warrented.

I think we'll just leave it be.  I stand by my comments, but also accept that I have personally had a truely horrendous couple of months that unfortunately doesn't seem to have ended in the new year, and I may be over reacting. Sorry. :?

Don't know if you will read this or not but I have to say as a relative newcomer to this website I have nothing but praise for the help that has been willingly offered.  I suspect that your not visiting again will be a loss that is solely yours.
