Can you access your Webhosting account via a standard FTP client or do they provide a Control Panel of some sort?

If so take a look at the file structure and see what directories may be located in the / root access...

I too am a bit of a noob at this. I have my site going, chicagoland.stormcentral1st.com and I have been uploading through the WDL configurator. I have downloaded and hopefully installed the correct .php files for running Ken's php templates from Saratoga Weather on the /chicagoland folder on the server. (hostgator) I am not sure why but when i go to the site, the set up i want is not there instead i have only the basic display from the configurator. how do I get rid of that and make my custom page appear?
the other question is, I have the wxnewpage.php that i am confused as to how i am supposed to set that one up. Obviously, this is not an everyday thing that I do

Initially, for seting things up, the homepage is called "wxindex.php" which is working on your site.
There are some errors on the page, like it looks as if you need to upload the footer.php file, but these can be sorted.

The wxnewpage.php doesn't really need setting up as this is the template for when you want a new page added to the website. In that case you would open the page in Notepad or another text editor and add any HTML coding to the main part of the page, then rename and save the file beofre uploading it.

I appreciate the quick reply...i think i will need to just adjust a few things in the wxindex.php file...question will be now, how do i set it up to automatically point at that portion of the page when someone goes to it?

When you've finished the setup just change the file name from "wxindex.php" to "index.php" and that will then become your homepage.
The current homepage, I think that's your WDL page at the moment, can be put into the "live" page in the template.

ok, changed wxindex.php to index.php but how do I set it so it shows the index.php when you go to the site address without forcing the user to add that index when they add the address.
also, how do I show the live page on the index? do I need to change the wdl.xml file or what am i missing?

You need to change the WDL page you have now from index.html to another name...

I believe the template uses live.html by default?

I think it's wxlive.php, you need to open this file in Notepad and make the necessary changes to match where your files are and then save & upload that file.
Then go on to the server and delete your current index.html file.
