Steve and any other takers,

Thanks for the reply. The output from wxsim after importing WD's files and the weather bureau comes out as two files which the 3n1 graphs pull from on the website. The issue for me that confusion reigns, is the time i would upload those files to the web? as WXSIM only produces output which sits on the server.
Would it be at the even hour as the files after they are produced? Does it not matter as the 3n1 script get it's timestamps from inside the file?
And when sending it to the website does the sending program as/like WD's built in FTP program, alter the timestamp of the file? TIA,

BRGDS,

patrick

Patrick,

I have those files uploaded very shortly (5 min) after each forecast.  The dates/times the script uses will come from within those files, not from the timestamp.

Patrick,

I AutoRun my WXSIM program at 5 minutes after the hour. When it completes, it runs an "optional DOS Batch File" (I specify this at the bottom of the AutoRun dialog box). This DOS Batch File FTPs 3 files to my website: plaintext.txt, lastret.txt, and latest.csv.

I've got an intermittent problem that's started popping up the last few days. Every now and then, the contents of the Overview graph are 'squeezed', that is, the graph doesn't go all the way to the left and right edges of the graph 'box'. All the data is there and is displayed, but it's 'squeezed' in the middle so it's not aligned properly under the correct days. I update my WXSIM forecast every 2 hours during the day and may have this condition for a few of them, but just as suddenly as it occurs, it will go away and be back to normal.

You can see what I'm talking about at: http://www.tylertexasweather.com/ttwfcast.htm. It is occurring at the 4PM run on 5/24 but there's no guarantee it will still be 'squeezed' on the next run.

Has anyone else seen this behavior?

Thanks,

Steve

Hi Steve,

This is a known problem. Henkka knows it but did not find the solution I think.
We all have this sometimes.

Hi Oebel,

Thanks for the information. It's nice to know I'm not alone experiencing this.

Folks,

mentioned in earlier post was the graphlog.txt producing output like this:

1338371700000,64.0,64.9,63.9,47.5,64.0,63.5,30.08,4.7,670,3,,W,0,0,-,,-,

notice the extra doodads on the end. How again do I troubleshoot and/or fix this. Permissions set at 666. Another poster mentioned it will correct itself. Or there was a workaround? Web Server can't handle long file entries? File is reading and writing okay it seems.
If this has been answered with a sure fix i sure can't find the message. TIA,

BRGDS,

patrick

Did you happen to change the time you run WXSIMATE? When others have had this problem, here's what I recommend that seems to work for most folks:
Change the Schedule in WXSIMATE to download data at 0 past the hour
Change the Schedule in WXSIM to AutoRun at 5 past the hour
Change the $uploadupdate parameter in wxall.settings.php to '00'

I will try now.

But this ( $uploadupdate parameter in wxall.settings.php to '00') will change nothing... It is only there to display the time of next update on the webpage.

When I look at your lastret.txt file, it shows your forecast was run at 1:45, not at the top of the hour as I suggested.

This is due to the last data downoaded from my personal station.

Wxsimate is taking last timestamp of last record to calculate the effective hour.

I will try to have it at the top of hour.

Regards.

Hi,

This is solved...

Explanation if it can help other :

When you download local data from ypur local station in wxsimate, the effective time is taken from the time stamp of the last record of you weatherstation data.

There is an option in wxsimate to round it to 5 minutes step.

So you have to arrange to have this effective time in wxsimate on top of hour and data will come back on your site.

My problem was simple :

My weatherstation have 20 minutes delay so the effective time was not at the top of the hour.

Thanks to SteveFitz1 for the effective and efficiance help.
