%FWIdes%

Hello,
It appears the %FWIdes% is out by ‘1’
If the FWI is moderate, the tag %FWIdes% would be high
but if the FWI is low, it would say ‘low/moderate’

cheers

it should match up OK
but maybe its a timing issue between when that custom tag is updated …and the FWI image is updated

hmmm, here’s a screen shot

But currentlt the FWI is ‘moderate’
http://www.gorgecreekorchards.com.au/wx/flash.html

ok, WD the graph and numbers in FWI are saying HIGH, but in WDL 6.06 its saying MODERATE

If one was to look at the yellow box, i wonder if WDL is using those figures ??
The needle/graph is in the blue and high, but in the yellow box it should be moderate.

Now upgrade to 6.07 WDL, but no change

the area you have highlighted in yellow is to manualy set the FWI value
which you have not ticked
so that value of 10 will not be used
WDL scale/ponter should be matching the scale/pointer in WD, yes?

ps, you can do a screen shot easy: click on the prtsc key on the keyboard, then paste as an image into MS paint

no,

here is the FWI from WD http://www.gorgecreekorchards.com.au/wx/FWI.htm

and this is WDL http://www.gorgecreekorchards.com.au/wx/flash.html

i though it won’t work in Remote Desktop, but it does,
here it is

looks like Julian just needs to change the description of each segment on the FWI indicator in WDL
to match

this should be in the WDL section of the forum

just checking in, if there’s any updates to this fix

Just looking into this query and I think the only difference is the labels that WDL uses. The individual FWI levels are the same as WD. WDL currently uses these values -

Low <=14
Moderate >14 to <=35
High >35 to <=64
Very High >64 to <=122
Extreme >122 to <232
Catastrophic >=232

I’ve been looking around to find a definitive source of what how they should be described with no luck. Can anyone point to the standards?

Julian

I don’t know if its WD or WDL , but my weathertalker (because its not dry here) is now saying “the Fire Weather Index is low/moderate” instead of low.

I have fixed the description not being correct for the %FWIdes% for those lower levels
in a new .zip update, ready now

Hi Brian, what values did you change it to? I’m not sure that WDL is correct…

Julian

Low <=14
Moderate >14 to <=35
High >35 to <=64
Very High >64 to <=122
Extreme >122 to <232
Catastrophic >=232

I’ll change WDL to be the same for the next release.

Julian

Thank you

Is there a place in WD to set the %FWIdes% name tag and %FWIfwi % numeric tag to track using the Canadian Numbers?

just checking in , to see if the latest update has a fix for the FWI ?
