Problem with Ubuntu install - was How to uninstall WD?

I have not tested the data logger download...I will test that...

Works great for me on 11.04....but then I am on version 38 as, for some reason that I have not had time to figure out, the latest version that I downloaded has not taken....I am still on 38. Been too busy with other things to figure out what I have done wrong.

Did you exit Weather Display before you extracted the new version?

OK Brian no problem, just thought I'd try. This test took WD down for a short time so I got the 'Time period too short' message in the ws2500 cp but then no real time data was received. When I get a chance I'll try with a longer time period to see if anything is different.

How do I turn off the splash screen in WD. When we have a power failure (and we have them frequently) my pc (Ubuntu) is set to autoboot into WD....but the splash screen always stops it.....so if I am away, I miss out on recording data etc....

do you mean WD's start up splash screen?
that will not be stopping WD
something else will be wrong on the boot up sequence

Sorry, maybe I was not making myself clear. I get a WD splash screen which asks for donation etc...and waits for input. When you press the input button, WD starts. I need to be able to bypass this manual intervention step.

I originally bought the Windows version.....am quite happy to pay again if needs be...or if the details cannot be found.

In that case I think you should be able to get a code, does the linux version have the reg code option under Help like Win?

No, but it has a Register button.....I will just pay again....it is easier that way.
