Looks very interesting in gfs maps!

With those thickness values I think it's almost 100% chance for snow!

180km further south (closer to Antarctica) and at 380m elevation, we have seen some flurries but nothing really to settle.  Very rare for us here - once in 30 years.  Current air temp 2.3ºC.  Overnight low was 1.8ºC and just 3mm of rain.

Location on image for me is on north edge of 524 pale blue color adjacent to [-35] on RHS, top rt corner.

Currently 6.1C here with 0C windchill and earlier this morning a 60 knots (69 mph,111kph) gust. Can't help but feel my anemometer is still getting interference from the house roof, even though it is 15ft high and a good 50 ft away from the house.

Thought my play ground slide was going to break off and fly away. Ran outside and put a dozen bricks on it.

I went in land a bit, and to a higher location
and got a nice snow shower :)

there was snow to sea level at times today just to the south of where I live!

Snow fell today where it has not been seen for 80 years!

I was looking at your wind speeds to give me some kinda indication it the position I have the anemometer was in a good spot or not. Your station is the only one I know that is near me (relatively close that I am aware of...kinda close lol) and on the west coast. My gust happened at 8:09 am this morning.

I am uploading at video to youtube atm..will post link once it is done. Bombay Hills?

Ohh where is the location of that video taken? I can't make out what he is saying.

Mind you, I'm not sure they get those 70mph winds you just got even in their winters... unless it's tornado season...

Aardvark has a long joke about the cold in Iowa winters - like BBQ in shorts at -10F - that's a normal fine day in IA!!  haha!

Can't say I ever had a BBQ in -10F, but have had a few campfires in -20C (I thought I would never warm up from  #-o). I can't stand winter back home..its too depressing to think about, they are very very very long and summer is like a fart in the wind.
