Alt iPhone/Android/iPad Weather ClientRaw with Wind Dial

Dear all,

A post as i thought some people might be interested in a custom ajax/google gauges version weather page. It was made as ive never personally been happy with the various other iphone/android apps/templates out there (not sure why the pic is upside down btw):



As it has a live wind dial it needs to be run in a compatible browser on either the iphone or ipad. So either 'Atomic' or 'Perfect Browser' with settings to a desktop client (i use chrome). This allows the dial to display with an update every 2 seconds.

Anyhow, welcome any comments (note it does not render correctly on standard desktops at the moment, but is fine on smart phones and the ipad).

Smithee one question, why include Android in your subject if the App is for the iPhone and iPad?    The gauge doesn't work on my Dell Streak 5...

It's a html page running full screen so you can open it on a desktop and view source...

Should be all you need, it's a modified version of the Ajax template with the addition of google gauges...

What are you using for the current condition icons?  The page points to ./ajax-imageslcd.  Are those images available here?

Bill - I made a custom set of icons, I did post them here a while back but happy to zip them up and repost as needs be.

Bob - it works on android, but needs a browser that can be set as adesktop client. Same with the iPhone, does not run in safari but needs a third party browser that identifies itself as either desktop firefox or chrome to work. It does run well through when set up with smooth transitions on the dial.

I was kind of hoping someone else could run with it as a whole new weather page could be made using google gauges and dials. Ours from casa, university college London, is just to show it works.

It runs in desktop browsers as well now..

Fixed the pic for you

OK its a bit of a work in progress - but if you take a look through the folder of images your get the general idea.



I am mid way through converting the images to large png files for a high res lcd display, files so far are included as are some template photoshop files.
