This started at least one build ago but it make have been further back than that:

The NOAA Warning module is hanging immediately after starting WD.  If I try to access it from the Setup function in WD I see three bars of activity on the speedometer at the top right and I can not click on anything in the pane or change any function; I just see an hour glass.  All I can do is close out of it with the X function at the very top right.  Meanwhile, as WD runs, I see more and more NOAA XML warning icons in the taskbar and it consumes more and more cpu and system resources until the system finally slows to a crawl and I have to reboot to clear it.

Any thoughts what is causing this and how I can fix it.  In the interim, I'd be happy if I could just successfully turn off the NOAA warnings to prevent the problem.

Thanks,
Tom

there is another thread about this
it might be a change that NWS have made
for now, rename or delete the wdxmlwarning.exe program

(note, its nothing to do with build 36, as you will notice that the modified date on that .exe has not changed)

If it will help any.. I could get Interwarn to work.   For some reason it doesn't upload on its own and of course the problem is yet another program running and eating resources.

I am confident that Brian will find the solution, he has the "magic" touch

I still have the same problem with it both hanging in WD and spawning multiple copies of the task...

Brian,
Thanks for the fix, are you having a  long hang time from control panel --> Noaa Warning?

Each time from the control panel --> Noaa Warnings, I can not get into the NOAA Warning panel, for seveal minutes.

Yeah, I'm seeing the same thing when I click on NOAA setup from the WD setup control panel. At first I thought it was still broken.  Also, every time I click on it, it starts another instance of the program.

when you run the separate program from the control panel, noaa warming, its starts up wdxmlwarning.exe
but its then in manual mode
you need to open the program visible by clicking on the icon in the system tray
from there you can set to update, via the go button
and then close manually
(as opposed to auto where it downloads the warning and then closes automatic)

Thanks, but for me, I can on open that icon from the tray.   Also I am not running it seperatly, it loads when I startup wd.  Tried both ways, still can not open wdxlmwarning from the tray, nor the noaa warning from the control panel.

Got it with left click on the icon, thanks..  Still unable to access from the control panel.
