If you are like most Twitter users, you have used use a third-party Twitter application to read or send Tweets. As of August 31, Twitter applications will all use OAuth, an authentication method that lets you use apps without them storing your password.

WD connects to Twitter via login/password. This no longer works, as one can read above.
I presume this is why my dedicated weather twitter account is no longer being updated by WD.

Will WD be updated to be able to connect to Twitter via OAuth?

Oh no,

.NET Framework v4.0 runs obviously not under Windows 2000 ..... so it's not possible to run the wdtwitter.exe ?!  :(

it was compiled with MS Visual Basic, and needs .NET 4
windows 7 is much better than windows 2000

all my weather data is on a W2K machine... a lot of work

Found an easier way: I'm currently "twitting" via a XP Prof wd-client
