kernelbase.dll errors
« on: August 30, 2010, 12:24:29 PM »
I am running WD 10.37P build 44 under Win 7 Pro 64-bit; also using Virtual VP and StartWatch.
This is a recently built PC and WD was moved from my old WinXP PC using the recommended procedure.

I am getting frequent error messages from Windows saying WD has a problem and has had to close.
In fact StartWatch restarts it immediately so there is no practical impact from the problem, other than my screen being filled with these error messages.
I suspect the same thing happened on the WinXP PC but that gave no error message, so all I would see is WD restarting from time to time.

I attach the Event Viewer log.

Can anyone suggest how I can fix this?

I have tried reinstalling WD over the top but this fails as a number of files, such as clientrawrealtimeftp.exe cannot be replaced/removed.."Access Denied"

I have seen other threads on this problem but none provide a solution that works for me

you need to exit the clentrawrealtimeftp.exe program to fix that
or if you do not want that replaced, click on ignore

with W7, make sure you have WeatherD.exe set to run as administrator (right mouse click to set that)
also use the latest new compiler .zip update (build 62) (unzip to where you have WD installed (exit WD first))

Thanks, Brian
I have done that and, so far, WD has not crashed.
I will monitor this and let you know whether or not the problem is solved

I downloaded the latest new compiler .zip update (build 62), unzipped it to where WD is installed (c:/wdisplay, in my case) and set WeatherD.exe to run as administrator.

Unfortunately a hardware problem has forced me to revert to my WinXP setup, until I can replace a part.
Once the Windows 7 setup is back in business, I will track stability and advise the result

I replaced the graphics card on my Windows 7 PC and it has run since Friday with no recurrence of the kernelbase.dll errors.
The new compiler version Build 62 seems to have done the trick.
Thanks, Brian
