A few small bugs with Ajax scripts...
« on: September 09, 2010, 02:01:05 PM »
I have a Davis VP2 weather station connected to an XP computer running WD 10.37P

I've been toying with a personal weather page using the Canadian PHP templates from Saratoga-Weather.org    I have the rudiments of a web page set up at http://ve4cy.net/wxindex.php

I've come across a couple of problems that I just can't fix.  I don't know which file(s) to locate edit and/or delete.  Here are the problems:

- Upon first opening the page, the conditions that were present about two weeks ago when I first set up the page are displayed.  After a few seconds almost everything updates to the current conditions and things carry on normally from there.   If I use one of the tabs on the left to view a sub-page and then return home, the same thing happens.

- The "Today" info is correct, but the "Yesterday" info always shows the same data (24.7 C high, 13.9 C low).  Where does this yesterday data come from?   What do I need to do to show the true yesterday data?

- The "24 Hr Difference" is always -3.3C

- It's over a week into September but the "Gust Month" and the "Rain Days" always  show an August value.   Should I be seeing the September 'rain day' and 'wind gust' data?

I've searched this forum, but have been unable to find any information specific to my problems.  I'm posting this hoping someone can provide assistance....   Thanks in advance.

Are you creating and uploading the testtags.php that goes with the template?

http://ve4cy.netcom/testtags.php?sce=view shows it isnt there.

Tony's on the right track... the testtags.php ( http://ve4cy.net/testtags.php?sce=view ) is 'stale'.. last uploaded at
Quote
$time =  '9:06 PM';    // current time
$date =  '30/08/10';    // current date

Once the testtags.php is uploaded regularly, the other issues you cited should be resolved.

Thanks for the replies..  It's testtags.php for sure..

My NEXT problem is getting testtags.php to upload.   I have a testtags.php file being created regularly in my \wdisplay\webfiles, but this file isn't making it to my web page.    I've followed the instructions on the Saratoga page..  All I see is adding some text to the "Custom Web Page Setup" tab in Web Files /Web Page option under Control Panel.

Below is a screen shot of my current settings....   What else do I have to change to get the testtags.php file to upload?   Since I have a stale .php file on my web page, it did upload for me once, but no longer does so.

YES..

They say a picture is worth a thousand words and it certainly helped..  My testtags.php is updating..  All the data on my weather page is now correct.

Thank you very much!
