Ventus W928
« on: August 17, 2010, 08:21:48 PM »
Hi all,

Just joined but have running a Davis WMII for some years now.

I have just purchased a Ventus W928 for use in my second location and have been looking for tips etc on setting it up. The instructions are a little odd, I think a translation from German.

Is anybody using one of these and can pass on any tips?

It may be an Irox clone but can't see an Irox that resembles it.

Thanks
Nick

The remote sensors look just like the Honeywell/Irox without the UV sensors, especially the rain bucket with it's rotary latch (more like a 924 then a 923).  Specifically what questions do you need answered?

EDITED:  http://www.weather-watch.com/smf/index.php?topic=38786.0  Searching this forum found this subject.  It is indeed an Irox clone, so WD settings using the IROX setup should be sufficient.

Just any tips and traps, that folk have learned through use. Such as how to change the altitude setting without having to power down totally and start up as a new system.

I plan to use it linked with WD which seems the best software that is compatible.

I've been a little surprised at the lack of info on the internet about the product considering how long it has been on sale.

Hi Nick,

I have been using the Ventus Meteotime W928 for over a year now with the Irox station type selected within the WD programme.

For changing the Altitiude easily, to get the air pressure correct I go out of WD and into the Weather Capture (WC) software that came with the W928. I change the altitude and upload then exit WC and go back to WD as the primary software. this is much easier and quicker than a full reset.

Hope that helps.

Regards

Philip
