Failed upload of clientraw in build 56 and 57 (RESOLVED)
« on: March 15, 2010, 01:46:27 PM »
When using build 56 or 57 my clientraw files don't upload anymore.
When I switch back to 55  everything works again.
Known problem?

Still on build 55 here so can't confirm.  Are the files being updated in your webfiles directory?  Any errors in the ftp log?

Actually I didn't. The problem is that when things don't work my site isn't updated anymore. So I want to switch back as soon as possible. Maybe I better stick to 55 as well. But normally using the newer builds never lead to problems.

is the problem that it runs, but if it stops running for what ever reason, WD does not restart it again?

It doesn't work from the beginning.
This is what I always do:
1.exit and save WD
2.restart the mini
3.install the update
4.restart WD
Normally everything works well from that point.
But now WD works properly itself, but doesn't update the clientraw files.

you should see cronftpreal running with activity monitor, after restarting WD
yes?
(I have tested here with the latest WD and cronftreal, and that works OK)

the clientraw files you say are not updating...you mean on your web page?
(but still updating on your mac in the selected clientraw location)?

what shows in a terminal window if you start cronftpreal

1. Can you tell me where to find that activity monitor (how to start/what to check)
2. I guess only the upload to the site is where it's going wrong. I will check that after (re)install
3. The terminal window I know. What do I have to type there?

...still learning ;-)

The Activity Monitor app is located in your Utilities folder. It will tell you what is running on the system at any given time.

Also, just to be sure you should check the location of your webfiles folder. Go to Control Panel>Web files/Web Page>Setup#1> Click on "Set Location for Clientraw files"... and locate and open your webfiles folder. Do the same for webfiles location.

I seem to recall having to do that during the recent updates with one of the builds. Worth a try.

Hope this helps,

After you do the cd /Applications try doing a ls command and it will list the files and directories in the folder.

From Windy's message above, try replacing:
cd /Applications/wdisplay/WeatherD.app/Contents/MacOS/
with this:
cd /Applications/WeatherD.app/Contents/MacOS/  if you installed the application by dragging it's icon into the Applications folder.

There is no longer a wdisplay folder in Applications in modern installs, just the WeatherD icon which contains all the app's resource files :)
