I run WeatherLink on 64bit Win7 with success, BUT i run WL 5.8.3, not the 5.9.x-series as i have never get them to work yet, 5.8.3 are rock solid for me, no problems at all.

Problem here is getting the drivers too install. Are the the drivers signed if not they won't install on 64 bit properly without a little help.

Since it also failed on windows xp which I presume is 32 bit I wonder if you got a faulty usb part.
Serial is better but you probably need a serial to usb convertor as well unless your pc has serial ports.

I connected directly to one other pc, the one where the station originally should be,
end there it worked like a charm. But, on that one I have not updated any drivers to
latest versions, and I wonder what will happen when installing latest WD on it?

Anyway.. since it is going to be a while before moving to another location, I really
would like it up and running here, and is seriously considering a serialconnector

It does not work on my XP, but on another old computer with xp and 5,7,1 WL installed.

I have the newest drivers for both XP and WIN7 on my two computers.

We have testet the datalogger on my friends Vista and somehow he does not get
it to work there either

IF I should reformat my new computer, and give it a new try... anyone willing to
give me the receipie for sucsess the.. The order for wich to install and plug everything in?

Win7, 64 bit, usbdatalgger, WL5.71 original, with updates and latest WD and WDL

Still without weather here  :?

In WL? WL can obiously be set(now) to whatever, since The computer(s) does not
recognice the USBdevice.

To answer your question, no. After installing 5.9.1 the usbexpressdrivers appaered in
the install/delete programs-menu, but uninstalled them.

there is a FAQ on how to un set the USBexpress mode using the software that davis supplies
try that, and then you should have a com port number assigned to the created usb to serial driver to then set WD to use

Can you provide us with a screen shot of the device manager and the offending item by any chance.

As long as the computer does not regognice the usb, the program(as pointet out
and shows on my earlier post with attachment) says that nothing is connected and
shuts down the convert program.
