All CWOP stations displayed in map using KML file
« on: February 21, 2010, 09:07:43 AM »
Hi

I wanted to view where all the CWOP stations in the world are located. I wanted this as a KML file, so I could display it in various mapping applications, Google Maps, Google Earth and so on.
I could not find any KML file for this, so I made a small utility to fetch the station list from official CWOP weather site, and convert this into a KML file.
I also include the links to the weather stations URLs, based on the list from the CWOP site.

You can read more about displaying all CWOP stations around the world on a map here http://www.kanonbra.com/index.php/projects/weathergeneral/cwopdisplayinmap.

The KML file is updated daily, and you can download the KML file for all CWOP weather stations here http://www.kanonbra.com/kml/cwop/APRSWXNETStation.kmz.

Regards
Alf Hogemark
