Same here Dan. I should mention that the reason mine is so reliable is that I got a slew of spare parts with my station, and have used many of them.. but it was cheap. (but definitely false economy) Could have afforded at least close to the outlay for a Davis by now... hence the "when I grow up" remark. Still the wmr869 was a great station to make all my mistakes on :) Will miss it... maybe.

I would agree.  The OS station is not well built.  I used to own a Davis VP2+ and it is very rugged and well built.  I went with the WMR100 as I wanted wireless and small foot print so I could easily transport in the RV.  If the Vue had been available at the time I would have bought one without thinking.  Now I have 2 WMR100 stations and will continue to use it until they die.  In the mean time I will be saving up for another Davis.  I just hope they decide to add solar to the Vue in the future.
I thought about the Vue for a replacement station for my WMR100.  If I want UV and Solar I don't think the Vue is an option because it can't do the solar sensors, but the price is good. It could end up as my third station if I was unhappy with it and then for sure I would of spent more than the price of  the Vantage Pro 2 and be kicking myself for not getting it in the first place.

I've never had the UV or Solar sensors before and if I want them then the Vantage Pro 2 seems like the way to go.

I have a Davis VP plus with the solar and UV.  I have the serial data logger with a keyspan serial/usb adapter.  Originally went with a cheaper  usb/serail adaptor but was getting lots of serial errors.  The Keyspan is expensive (around $40) but well worth the money.  My serial line is just phone wire of around 50'; love having such a long connection from the console to the computer.  I use WeatherLink for modifying the console settings with VMWare; lot easier than messing with the console.  Still downloading to the WeatherLink software though.

Is the Davis Vantage Vue a supported station? I don't see it listed under the Davis section.

Please post results.  I'm thinking of getting one and wonder how well it will interface with the Mac.  Are you using WeatherSnoop?

its already been discussed that the Mac USB drivers for the USB data logger work great with WD to give direct connection to the Davis stations
i.e no need for weathersnoop (which is not going to provide missed data extraction)

I was using WeatherSnoop with my WMR100. Looks like that won't be necessary with the Vue.

I do like the looks of the VUE console better then the WMR 100 console so far, until I install the sensors that's about

As soon as I get the sensors installed I'll let you know who it's working.

Wow, that's a great looking station. Is it a new product? I especially like the anemometer mounting, I still have icing issues from the anemometer being on the low side of the stack on the wmr968. That should eliminate a lot of the issue :)

I think it's a recent addition to the Davis line of stations. I think it's been around for at least 6 months or longer.
