Please post results.  I'm thinking of getting one and wonder how well it will interface with the Mac.  Are you using WeatherSnoop?
I've had the new Vue running for a couple of days and I like it. I am having no issues with the USB connectivity like I was having with the WMR100. I also like the compact sensor installation. I think the console is also much better then the WMR100 console.

The only problem I had was with the WeatherLink software. Initially it would start up and display an error about being able to find a certain file, which was clearly installed in the WeatherLink directory. I was unable to do the initial Vue configuration because the WeatherLink software would not run. A search of the Davis site said I needed to set the WeatherLink.app to run in the 32 bit mode instead of in the 64 bit mode. Once I changed to the 32 bit mode, it worked fine and I was able to do the initial configuration and get it talking to WD.

That was the only issue I've had with the Vue and I'm glad I got it to replace my WMR100.

I think the compact sensor installation would be a good fit for someone who travels. The sensors could be installed on a nice tripod and set it up in  a good location (like the roof of a camper?).

The lack of Solar and UV sensors didn't really bother me since the WMR100 didn't have them either.

I'm quite satisfied with the Vue and wish I had got it sooner.

Sounds good.  Working on the keeper of the funds to see if I can order one soon.  Ever since I had the vp2+ with solar I can't live without it.  I hated the default partly cloudy icon, and I hated using metars for anything on my sites.  Luckily, now that Brian has fixed the problem I was having with my THGR800 converted sensor I should be able to keep one WMR100 console just to feed the solar data to WD and use the Vue for everything else.
