It is a prolific. I know it works because WeatherSnoop picks up the data from it with no problem.

Using the same here there is a updated driver for lion can't remember where I got it from Apple website or proflic I had that problem also. I'll look in my files

Hi all -

OK... I've purchased both a prolific and a Ftdi USB interface...and both are listed in the /dev/

tty.usbserial
tty.usbserial-FTEKCRKT

I have tried all the drivers...but as these are listed...and both seem to work fine on Weather Snoop...I'm assuming the interfaces is not the problem.

I have tried to set Weathersnoop as the device...nothing...and have tried most of the options.

I'm a new Mac user...using Lion and a WS2317...

Thanks for anyone's help in advance...(my station has been online for about 5 years on windows...jheeeze)!

Unfortunately no Greg. And as you it does work with Weathersnoop.

So you have yours working using WS agent and WD together now... or are we both still together with non functional mac weatherstations?

No, I use "Virtual Box" to run Windows on my Mac and WD through that.

WD Mac does work with weather snoop
make sure you are using the latest .zip update

also I have a couple of new mac compilers I am working with now
and one has a serial driver
and so I will be able to use that to get the raw data

Yes, mine is. I have tried every driver I could find. And as we have discovered Weathersnoop will find the station so it's weird that WD won't.

that is working here with my serial data logger

(I had to change the read function to one specific for a serial (I will need to make that as option if this test works)

(I had to also use a different usb to serial adpator,my first one I tested with did not work (even with weather snoop)

I have this in terminal,

/dev/tty.Bluetooth-Modem          /dev/tty.PL2303-000012FA
         /dev/tty.Bluetooth-PDA-Sync          /dev/tty.usbserial

Neither one of them is picked up in WD's comports and I tried both as a manual entry with no luck either.
