Thank you for your prompt reply. But entering this code:
settings["yr.no"] = "Czech_Republic/Moravia-Silesia/Brunt%E1l";
in my iwdl_settings.js is still not working (there is only word "Loading..." on iPhone's Forecast page).

Just a heads up: I got it working in development.
There is another thing I have to figure out, someone else seems to use another codepage when editing the iwdl_settings.js file.
Instead of Zürich, in the file I see Zrich.
What editor did you use to edit iwdl_settings.js?

For editing iwdl_settings.js file I'm using TextWrangler on Mac and the file is saved after editing in encoding Unicode (UTF-8) because I use diacritical letters in "station-name" and "location".

Version 0.8a is now the latest; language files are updated, and the diacriticals fix for yr.no citynames is in.

Download as usual: http://sietse.net/iwdl-latest.tar.gz

Thanks for all the new features, I specially love the weather forcast from yr.no, very nicely displayed, and the forcats are good too, at least for us here in Norway. I have found the Norwegian weather radar at met.no (http://met.no/English/) wich is the Norwegian Meteorological Institute. However the size of the picture is a bit to large, and I do not see how I can fix that?

Just one thing, when I add a measurement on the Home screen, (in Temp wich is very relevant to me since the weather station is at my cabin far up in the mountains) a new line is added and then the menu in the bottom goes partially out of the screen, even dough there is enough free space on the screen as is.

Just missing the records for month, year and total now, then it is perfect! Other plans?

Hi Sietse,
in version 0.8a is forecast with diacritical letters in location name working perfectly!  :D Thank you for your work and I'm looking forward to new functions in new versions of iWdl. - For me would be very nice to see max/min for month/year/total and to display information about snow (snow fall for today/this month/this season and current snow depth) from clientraw data.

Hi, I have tried to change the coordinates of js.setting.
But it will still forward Ekeby on the map,
 (it's coordinates from clientraw file 56, 13).
Code: [Select]
// Location name override; iWDL normally uses the coordinates from clientraw.txt.
// In case you want another location to show up in the map screen, remove // in the following line:
 settings["location"] = "Stenestad, SE";

// Next settings only needed if lat/long is not in your clientraw.txt; below are coordinates in Netherlands
// Negative values for east of Greenich and southern hempisphere
 settings["longitude"] = "-13.1019";
 settings["latitude"]  = "53.0532";

Regards
 Bertil

That is correct, if it is in clientraw, it will take that; why not fill the coordinates correctly in Weather Display?

Good to hear.
min/max for day/month/year/alltime is on the list.

So, if you have an english and a norwegian site with its own settings, switching between iwdl and iwdl_e wil indeed change language because the HTML5 database for iwdl is empty.

Sietse,

Thanks for the explaination! This is not a big problem for me, but it's always good to know how it's working!

Good afternoon Sietse,
Upgraded to 0.8a last night with little issues.  The wife and I really appreciate the hard work your doing with iWDL as it's now becoming a regular (sudo) app she uses on her new iPhone.  Is there a way you can pull the Radar and WebCam from Live Weather page and move it to the main page as option to turn on on/off there instead?  The reason is we have "Live Weather" page configured to fit perfectly for a quick view without having to any scrolling.  I got the Forecast to work with yr.no; however I'd prefer to use a url.  I'm having an issue in screen size to fit the iPod with NWS as an iframe using:
     settings["forecast_url"] = "http://forecast.weather.gov/MapClick.php?site=mlb&smap=1&textField1=28.7892&textField2=-81.2757&TextType=2";

Any suggestions in sizing the iframe?  That would also help me with using WUnder Radar as it too is to big with:

     settings["radar"] = "http://radblast-aa.wunderground.com/cgi-bin/radar/WUNIDS_map?station=MLB&brand=wui&num=6&delay=30&type=N1R&frame=0&map.x=400&map.y=240&scale=0.248&centerx=634&centery=470&transx=234&transy=230&lat=28.7690&lon=-81.3411";

Any luck in changing the Wind Direction Graph from degrees to "abbr" values coming soon as a fix/enhancement?

Also is there a way to turn on/off iPhone rotate page in your coding abilities?  I ask as sometimes it shifts when you rally don't want it to and all your coding looks GREAT in portrait.

Thanks again for all your hard work in this wonderful addition to our Weather Station.

I also have a problem with setting the correct coordinats in WD, some how the values change a bit and it misses my location with about 70 km. I have the correct coordinates in the iwdl_settings.js why canīt I override the settings in the WD? Or how should I fill inn the correct coordinates from the iwdl_settings.js into WD, it seams that WD uses another format... degrees, minutes seconds? this is my correct coordinates

settings["longitude"] = -10.1003;
settings["latitude"]  = 61.6241;

You can use http://www.fcc.gov/mb/audio/bickel/DDDMMSS-decimal.html to convert decimal to H-M-S
It still puzzles my why you would fill the wrong coordinates in Weather Display.
The only reason the settings entry exists, is because I have a problem with Weather Display not filling in my position at all in my clientraw (I have to file a bug about that). If I detect that there are no coordinates in clientraw, then I pick from settings.

However, I will add to my todo list that an entry in iwdl_settings.js allways should override the clientraw.

Good afternoon Sietse,
Any suggestions in sizing the iframe?  That would also help me with using WUnder Radar as it too is to big with:

     settings["radar"] = "http://radblast-aa.wunderground.com/cgi-bin/radar/WUNIDS_map?station=MLB&brand=wui&num=6&delay=30&type=N1R&frame=0&map.x=400&map.y=240&scale=0.248&centerx=634&centery=470&transx=234&transy=230&lat=28.7690&lon=-81.3411";

I am just providing the means to put some url in the radar / webcam / forecast screen - the content is up to you.
So, either find a PDA / iPhone friendly url to put in the iframe, or create your own html file that fits the size of the iPhone screen.

For example, in http://sietse.net/iwdl the iframe contains the http://buienradar.mobi url that is optimized for PDA / smartphone usage.

For your radar info, either find a PDA/smartphone friendly URL, or create a html file that downsizes the picture.
In your case, for example, create a file called wuradar.html with the following content:

Code: [Select]
<html>
    <head>
    </head>
    <body>
      <img src='http://radblast-aa.wunderground.com/cgi-bin/radar/WUNIDS_map?station=MLB&brand=wui&num=6&delay=30&type=N1R&frame=0&map.x=400&map.y=240&scale=0.248&centerx=634&centery=470&transx=234&transy=230&lat=28.7690&lon=-81.3411' width='300'>
    </body>
</html>

and put that file in your iwdl directory.
Then set settings["radar"] = http://www.lakemaryweather.com/iwdl/wuradar.html and you should be fine.
The trick is to set the image width to 300 - about the width of the iphone screen (it is 320 to be exact).

I will emphesize again: I provide the means to load other content in the iframes, it is up to the user to fill it with something that makes sense.

Hope this helps.

Sietse

PS. If somebody is willing to provide html and/or php pages that transforms popular sites to something that can be used in iWDL iframes, I am willing to incorporate it in iWDL as some kind of 'plugin'.
