Wind Speed Dial not working
« on: December 26, 2009, 04:22:49 AM »
WD 10.37P.

The main wind speed pointer (not the gust pointer) on the main page is not moving.  I'm getting digital readings below the main wind speed dial indicating wind speed but the main pointer does not move.

Any ideas?

I think I have the same problem... Just got a WMR200 for Christmas, downloaded the free trial of WD, and got it all to work pretty well (so far), but it does not show any reading for Average Windspeed.  Gust (or Current) Speed shows up fine, but even in all records, there has never been anything but 0.0 for Average Windspeed.  Now, it has been rather calm, but had 2 solid hours of light wind (1.5 mph or so), and still Average is 0.0.  Even the Data Log File shows only 0.0, so not sure why all other readings are being sent but this one.  BTW, it DOES show an Average on the Unit itself, just not in WD.  Oddly, if I click on the 0.0 on the main screen of WD, like to change units, it does show a reading, but only for a few seconds, then back to 0.0.  I would love to see the answer to this, as since this is a trial version, I don't want to buy it if there is a problem!

Thanks in advance for any help!

Forgot to add... using Version 10.37j

Sorry to take so long getting back to this topic....

No, the wind direction vane is not frozen.  I can see it moving...and it's pointing West.  But, the WD indication is North.

spiker, is that the free basic version for the wmr200?
you most likely will find that the full version works OK

geewizard, you dont say which buil of WD
make sure you are using the latest version, as a problem with 1 wire windspeed has already been fixed

Ok, updated WD to build 16, checked all 1-wire settings and they look good, and now waiting for the wind to blow.

Wind is finally blowing and I still have problems with the main page wind speed dial....and now with the wind speed graph!

http://wulk.com/weatherstation.htm

The green windspeed pointer corresponds to the current wind speed but the digital display does nothing.  Plus, now there's no graphical display of windspeed.

Note that the WDL display is working ok.

When I look at the Dallas 1-wire setup page, I'm seeing "Error reading A/D result page (-7)!" quite often.  Not always but quite often.
And when I do a Save/Reset, I do get a bit of data showing up on the main page graph for wind speed and direction.

How could WDL be showing correctly but WD not, both from the same 1-wire sensors?

Ok, thanks for checking it, Brian.  I guess it's my wind speed sensor.  The rest of the sensors on the 1-wire LAN are good.

When it gets warmer than it is now, I'll climb the tower and replace the AAG wind dir/speed unit.
