Guys,

I'm having an intermittent problem (once or twice a week) where my Ajax dashboard doesn't auto update every 5 seconds - when this happens the "Updated" and the time flash green every 5 seconds however the seconds keep incrementing and nothing else updates on my page. If I go to my Weather display live page when this happens, I get regular 5 second updates. As both Ajax and WDL use the same Clientraw.txt file I'm a bit baffled as to how/why .... the dashboard will then start updating all of its own accord without me doing anything. It isn't hardware related as I have had this "issue" for a while on a Windows PC and now on my Mac Mini running VMware. Even restarting WD when this happens has no effect ...

It doesn't happen often but its annoying wondering what the problem may be - any clues out there?
Cheers

Ian

Sorry for the late reply, but if you have this problem, just make sure you've set the CHMOD of your cache directory to either 755 or 777.

The 'green flash' of the "updated" word shows the AJAX script is indeed fetching the clientraw.txt.  The counter only resets when a new time in the record is available.  I've noticed that for about 1 minute around the time the main computation is being done in prep for the main FTP uploads, the timestamp in the clientraw.txt doesn't update, and clientrawrealtimeftp continues to upload the same copy of clientraw.txt

This has been happening on my setup for a long time, and I just think it's the normal operation of WD.  Nothing to be concerned about :)

Best regards,
Ken

might not be the same thing though, if WDL is showing the time changing
....(depends on how long takes to start working again, which is not said)

Mine is still doing this every so often - it did it today by co-incidence ... it takes about 5 mins or so to come right on the ajax pages - during this time WDL works fine .. and if I reload the page the data updates however the time counter still goes up ... it does this on all clients I use at the time - Mc book, iphone, xp pc etc .... weird
