Data not read into mini mac - please help [RESOLVED]
« on: June 13, 2009, 03:35:35 PM »
Hi

I have just got a mini mac and am trying to get WD to read in data from my VP1 serial data logger.  I have bought a serial to usb converted from Maplins and installed the driver.

I now have a connection called /dev/tty.usbserial

However when I run the 'usb reader' app, the message is 'cannot connect to station: underfined error: 0

please help!

Thanks, Nick

Hi
do not run the usbreader program
that is for a different station type (wmr100/200)

put /dev/tty.usbserial
in the manual entry in the com port setup

Hi Brian

I've just typed that in and no success

Is there anyway I can test the port?

Thanks

Nick

what shows under view, WS2010/WS2500 setup?
but from a email it sounds like you have it working now?

Yes, thanks Brian

For some reason the WS2010 page was ticked as well as the Davis, once I ticked the 'none selected' box on the WS2010 page and re-set up the Davis page it worked immediately :D :D

Is there anyway to make the WD window larger as it only takes up around half the screen??

Cheers

Nick

A lot of
at this stage you cant make it larger, but that might be something I can work on in the future

A lot of users including myself like the present screen size as we can see other windows while viewing WD. If you should make a change to the size, could you make sure there is an option to shrink, enlarge the between the present size and new (or adjustable ) sizes?
Thanks,
jmar
