Boltek driver question
« on: May 20, 2009, 06:53:39 PM »
Hello,

I hope someone can help me out

I just got the Boltek pci stormtracker card with Nexstorm software.
My system is Win Vista 64 bit.

I installed the 64 bit driver from the Boltek webpage but it won`t work.
First I installed the Nexstorm software and second the Boltek pci driver.
When I start the Nexstorm software I got an error message that the driver isn`t found.
It says: WDAPI921.dll can`t be found. reinstall!
I did that several times. No luck.

I hope someone can help.

i know that with windows 2000 it took a few hoops to jump through to get the driver to work

try copying the dll file to where nextorm is installed and to c:\winnt\system32\ or similar

Have you tried asking astrogenix/nexstorm?

No, I asked it now on their forum.

When somebody has or recognize this same problem, please reply.

Also mailed Boltek.

I know this is a long shot I have seen where you set it to run as a administrator sometimes fixes the issue.

Which driver have you been trying to install?
You say in the first post:

It says: WDAPI921.dll can`t be found. reinstall!
I did that several times. No luck.

But on the Boltek Website it says:
Quote
This installation program will copy the new 64 bit StormPCI_DLL.dll file over top of NexStorm's 32 bit version.  To manually copy the file the 64 bit DLL can also be found in "C:\Program Files (x86)\Boltek\StormTracker PCI Driver 64 bit".

Scrub the above.
I see you have Relko on the case on the Astrogenics forum, hope he gets you sorted.

For others, the current Nexstorm program won't run on Vista 64 as Relko wasn't informed that Boltek had released a new driver for it.
So he's working on it.

Hello all,

Thanks for the advises. Did a lot but nothing worked.

As Budgie said, I have good support from Astrogenic (Relko) an Boltek ( Robert) and they promised to have very shortly a solution for Vista 64 bit. Both are working on it.
So I`m still waiting.

Thanks again.

Hopefully a solution is not too far away, as I am in a similar situation also.

I am unable to install the driver period since the install program for the 64-Bit driver thinks I have a computer which does not qualify and I am currently running Windows 2003 Server Enterprise in 64 Bit mode.

Will have to wait an see.

I have just received a replay from Robert Boll that a update to the Boltek StormTracker PCI Driver (64 bit) has be created and this now solves my problem of trying to install the Boltek StormTracker PCI Driver (64 bit) on a Windows 2003 Server R2 Enterprise x64 Edition system.
