This is my first post.  I recently purchased a wmr968 and am working on the best placement for the sensors.  I want to locate the temp/hum sensor on the north side of the house, but need to put the transmitter about 30 feet away to get enough sun for the photocell.  I am planning on using cat 5 cable for the extension.  The total extension length will be about 25 feet.

Does anyone have experience in extending the cable for this sensor?  Will it affect the accuracy?  Does the type or wire gauge of the extension cable have an affect?

Thanks!

Mike..

I don't have any experience of this, but here in the UK at least OS seem to offer 10m extension cables which is similar to the length you are interested in, so even if you still want to make your own the ready made one should indicate that extension is possible.

Thanks for your reply.  This is good information.  I hadn't seen an extension cable for the wmr968 listed on the OS site.  I guess the best way to proceed is to make the cable and do some testing to see if it affects the accuracy.
