I have my current condition Icon being set from the metar.  Every few days, WD seems to ignore the new metar download and keep the current weather condition.  It will stay static until I restart WD, and then it picks up the current metar.

As an expample, at 11:54 it was overcast, light rain, misty and changed at 12:54 and again at 1:35, but WD is still showing the old metar data.  See this link which I am using because if I try and get the jpg down to 128K it is not very readable.  You can see the entries in the metar log which are not being honored.  My local Icon is being overridden because I have it set that way for rain, wind etc..

Any thoughts?

Metar settings are below(Metar log attached)

Thanks

i think I see what the problem is
the weather conditions parmeter disappears from the metar (the light rain mist)
but WD still keeps the last one
so I just need to delete that each time prior to reading in the metar

I will do that now...standby

but, though, which version of WD are you using?
(as the code shows I have done that already)

Brian -

Is there a specific time that WD checks for new metar data, or is the download supposed to trigger the update?   My current metar reading when I click on the main WD Icon, generates a metar that is over 1 hour old, 4 metar udates old, and 3 weather changes behind.  It went from Overcast - light rain, to overcast, to overcast - light snow, to partly cloudy - light snow, and the metar generated is still saying OC - light rain, and all the metar reading in the gif are over an hour behind...

Metar is updated at the times you have set in Internet>Metar download setup.

Tunes - I know that - my question was when a new Metar is downloaded, does WD immediately look at the data and update, or does it update on a schedule independent of the download.

I am not able to duplicate any problem here
but I do notice you have set to use a proxy server...but there is not proxy server setup

if I change the wording in the downloaded metar (for the weather description), i.e KROC.met
then on the next minute, when I click on the main screen icon in WD, that wording is updated in WD for metar data that is shown

try that
I even was able to then do a test metar download
then on the next minute update, the metar had changed to what was now showing in the weather description, after I clicked on the main screen icon

i see that you have unticked to update the real time graphs, in the setup, advanced/misc setup, main program customise
tick that (normaly ticked)
as having that unticked is preventing the metar from updating (but not overriding your conditions)

Brian – have gotten your messages and done as you suggested.  For the first time in 5 hours the metar data has been updated on the gif images.   Very Happy  It took a minute or 2 until the graph screen updated for the change to hit the gifs.  I can not even tell you when I was in that customize screen last – it has been a long long time.

I will watch for the next day or so, but I think you are absolutely correct.

Thank you –
