Application Error on close
« on: November 06, 2008, 10:55:57 PM »
Brian,

Everytime I close Weather Display (Save & Exit option) I get:

Quote
Application Error

Exception EAccessViolation in module WeatherD.exe at 0000A3AB.
Access violation at address 0040A3AB in module 'WeatherD.exe'. Read of address 30303030.

I click the OK button and then I get

Quote
Weather Display has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience."

If I click to see the error report I see this one the top:

Quote
AppName: weatherd.exe   AppVer: 10.37.0.0 ModName: weatherd.exe
ModVer: 10.37.0.0  Offset: 000035e0

I click Don't Send then it comes back up again; then sometimes I will get "Runtime error 216 at 000F37BA".

So finally I just end task and all is good again.

I never had any issues opening or closing Weather Display prior to now. When I had hobartweather & clovisweather It worked great. Once I started it back up for portalesweather.net with my Ulitmeter 2000 its when it's happening.

I have Windows XP Service pack 3. Any advise or suggestions?

Actually it was happening with version 10.37L as that was the version I went to from the old site. I thought it might of been a floke so I didn't worry to much. However now that I upgraded Updates and Windows Display, I figured now tt was important to let you know of this issue.

UPDATE: When I start Windows Display after reboot and let it sit for a minute and close it, it closes fine. It appears after it's running after awhile it locks up since the last couple times I had it running for days without interuption. I'll leave it alone for a couple hours and close it later tonight to see if it errors out.

No one else is having this issue at closing the program? Juste curious

On my laptop, running XP SP2, I have not been able to shut down WD in almost 2 years without an error generated from weatherd.exe.  This has been an issue with me for many many versions and builds.  I don't allow any reports to be sent and can simply restart WD without having to reboot the computer.  WD can run for many weeks without problems.  I have considered ym shutdown problem to be more of an annoyance.  BTW, I am getting different memory conflicts than you.

Brian,

I got it again. Installed new Windows Updates and when I did a Save and Close of Weather Display it error out on me. I had to go to Task Manager to close it. I then restarted Windows and once I got back; I then turned on Windows Display.
