make sure septembers logfile looks ok, i.e no wrong data for the first few days
then convert that logfile to data file, via action, convert wd logfiles to data/graph files
then re do the recreate september av/ext

Is it normal that the first entry in the logfile has an 8 instead of a 9?

that has been addressed in a recent update of WD
(no its not normal for that to occur, not sure why you would imply it is?)

Well I'd noticed that several months start that way. Fair enough, so I guess it should work if I fix that problem.

Ok, I fixed the date in the the logfile, then converted it to a graph file, and recreated the average/extreme as intructed. But it's still using July data.

I think I've spotted what appears to be wrong... the first hour in the graph file shows 59 for every minute.

The problem appears to be with the conversion of logfile to graph file. I did a before and after comparison using a known good data file, and the first hour had been corrupted when I converted it.

*edit

I think the problem might be Windows-related. I noticed the recent entries in my logfile are an hour "behind" the time on the computer. The weird thing is that the time in WD and on the clock is correct, so I don't know why it would be different in the logfile..  Daylight savings issue maybe? :?

Scratch that previous post.. the problem isn't with Windows. I was reading the times wrong.

Perhaps someone else can try converting a logfile to a graph file and see if they end up with the same issue.

Had a similar problem, 1st Oct is missing from my logfile and this is also true when converted also.
I only noticed this when WXSIM through an error message at me to tell me there was no recent data for calibration for a forecast.

So that is when i checked my logfile and was blank for that day 1??

my OCT log file is OK
(note that I had fixed a bug with the previous month showing on the first line in a update of WD before the end of last month)

.zip and email me your logfile you are trying to convert and recreate from

I just emailed you my September logfile. Perhaps you'll spot something I missed.

Never mind! :D

Amazingly I got it working. I found that if you delete the existing data file, then convert the logfile, it will work properly. So the problem is the data file not being overwritten properly (at least on my machine).

Everything looks good. The only thing I noticed is really minor - there are two commas in the links that say "view today's 24 hour graph".

Suddenly i'm not so sure the problem is entirely gone... when I load the graph file in the data viewer it's still showing 59 for every minute of the first hour.

And there's this weird diagonal line on the Sept 1st graph.

I just downloaded the newest zip file.

I did notice another problem with the graphs however. See the attached file (note: the original graph has the correct wind direction).
