Hi Dave,

Many thanks for your information, glad I am not the only one with this happening especially seeing its happening the other side of the pond,

Your symptoms are identical to mine, spot on, it would be interesting to hear from other members using XP if they have the same problems also from members not using XP, this way we can satisfy ourselves it is an XP problem, at first I thought that I may have a bug in WD but I keep up to date with the latest versions.

It is not affecting the way the program runs this end its just a bit of a pain in the butt, but I am sure I can live with it.

I also have noticed this. It happens randomly but seems to have no affect on anything. My weather  pc runs 24/7 and will sometimes run for over a month without this happening. Other times it happens within hours of a restart. The first thing I did when I noticed this was to check in task manager and there is always only one instance of WD running. The only odd thing is that having worked on many XP PCs for years, I don't remember seeing another example of this behaviour by any other program.
