Using WMR918 with Serial to USB adaptor
« on: June 08, 2008, 01:46:45 PM »
Has anyone successfully used the OS WMR918 with a Serial to USB adaptor? I am considering going to a Eee PC style computer for my weather station but it only has USB ports. The savings in electric will pay the cost of the computer within 2 years.... plus it's just my part to be a bit greener :)

I'd sure like to find out all about this if you made this work.  I'm trying to get same set up to my MacBook using Boot Camp to load Windows XP.

Is there a driver available?

I have used my 928 with a Serial to USB on XP and Vista with no problems :)

I have also used the Serial to USB over 30 meters using the USB Extender and
cat5e cable, this too worked very well, albeit it was just an experiment!
