FTP #2 download problem
« on: December 02, 2003, 05:33:28 PM »
Hello,

I'm having a problem which may or may not be similar to the FTP download problem reported elsewhere in this forum.

I'm having a problem with W-D fetching the #2 FTP file from NOAA.  It's getting the forecast (the #1 FTP) just fine, but nothing is being transferred for the second task.   This was working fine up until a few months ago, and since the #2 FTP is just retrieving special warnings I didn't notice until now (when I saw my file and the file at NOAA are not the same).

Here's some output, first from #1 FTP:

220 tgftp.nws.noaa.gov FTP server ready.
USER anonymous
331 Guest login ok, send your complete e-mail address as password.
PASSWORD=****
230-Please read the file README.TXT
230-  it was last modified on Mon Aug 19 13:36:34 2002 - 470 days ago
230 Guest login ok, access restrictions apply.
changing directory to /data/forecasts/zone/tx/
CWD /data/forecasts/zone/tx/
250 CWD command successful.
Next file ftp down
PWD
257 "/data/forecasts/zone/tx" is current directory.
Retrieving the NOAA file txz081.txt now
PASV
227 Entering Passive Mode (205,156,51,200,134,212)
RETR txz081.txt
150 Opening ASCII mode data connection for txz081.txt (1948 bytes).
226 Transfer complete.
Finished ftp download
QUIT
221-You have transferred 1995 bytes in 1 files.
Disconnected.

Okay, that's what I expect.  Here's what it's logging for task #2:

220 tgftp.nws.noaa.gov FTP server ready.
USER anonymous
331 Guest login ok, send your complete e-mail address as password.
PASSWORD=****
230-Please read the file README.TXT
230-  it was last modified on Mon Aug 19 13:36:34 2002 - 470 days ago
230 Guest login ok, access restrictions apply.
changing directory..
CWD /data/watches_warnings/special_weather_stmt/tx/
250 CWD command successful.
Next file ftp down
Finished ftp download
QUIT
221-You have transferred 0 bytes in 0 files.
221-Total traffic for this session was 731 bytes in 0 transfers.
Disconnected.

Okay, what's it's *supposed* to be fetching is file "txz074.txt" from that directory, which does exist.

I've tried deleting the FTP settings in the set up and putting them back, but that doesn't seem to work either.

Since this worked previously I'm baffled why it's not working now.

Any ideas?

Thanks!
Todd

Thanks Brian, it appears to be downloading the second file now.

I'll look forward to FTP #3 whenever you feel like adding that.  :-)

Thanks again!
