Nikki,

The reason I was wondering about a laptop is that they sometimes don't have very strong USB ports and the DS2423 counter chip seems to be much more sensitive than other 1-Wire chips to the voltage and waveform on the 1-Wire network.

What kind of cable are you using? If it is not CAT5 then that could be your problem especially since you have a long run.

A Hub may work but I can't be sure.

Eric

If you have a powered usb hub handy you could try that.

I am constantly amazed at the quality of the discussions that go on here without devolving into the ad-hominem attacks and flame wars that predominate in some other places.

I guess it just goes to show you that Weather Watchers have powers and abilities far beyond those of mortal men. Weather Watchers, who can chart the course of mighty storms, render web sites with their bare hands, and who, disguised as ordinary people from all walks of life, fight a never ending battle for data, accuracy, and the best NEXRAD display.
